Have you seen the entire Mr. Creosote sketch from Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life?

Have you seen the entire Mr. Creosote sketch from Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life? / Boing Boing:

The Mr. Creosote sketch from Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life went viral this weekend after director Quentin Tarantino was alleged to have said it’s the only scene in film he was ever disturbed by. Watching it, it struck me that I’d never actually seen the whole thing, and that you might not have, either.

I’d managed to block this from memory, and a lot of people have never seen this, the comedy is genius, but yes, it’s disturbing. After Eight anyone? 😬

Starting today, the ECG app on Apple Watch Series 4 marks a direct-to-consumer product that enables customers to take an electrocardiogram right from their wrist, capturing heart rhythm in a moment when they experience symptoms like a rapid or skipped heart beat and helping to provide critical data to physicians.

Am off to do me some OS updates, if I’m not back soon then I’ve gone to the doctors 😬

Apple Card – Apple

Apple Card – Apple:

If you find a place that doesn’t take Apple Pay yet there’s this.

So the physical card is for when you find somewhere that doesn’t take Apple Pay, sorry, but if I have a card that looks this good I’m using it all the time, don’t care if I earn less cash back.

Luckily, unlikely to hit the UK any time soon that I can see, so I don’t need to make silly financial decisions!

Disney hires for Lucasfilm Games (Not as exciting as I thought)

Disney hires for Lucasfilm Games as EA flounders with ‘Star Wars’ (updated):

There hasn’t been a Lucasfilm Games-badged release since before 1991’s Monkey Island 2, but that isn’t stopping Disney from resurrecting the classic label.

Got all excited reading this, well nostalgic at least, loved me the Lucasfilm Games, loads of fond memories, but I guess it pays not to be an ‘up to the second blogger’ as it was explained away with;

Disney has reached out to the media to explain that this isn’t a “revival” and it’s definitely not anything like LucasArts. The team at Lucasfilm that oversees games relating to its IP (including Star Wars Battlefront II) has been working under that name for years

But, my brain was already ticking, there’s a great list of LucasArts games over at Wikipedia, some of favourite wastes of time include;

  • Star Wars Dark Forces
  • The Monkey Island franchise (loved the humour)
  • Shadows of the Empire
  • The Jedi Knight games, adored these
  • Rogue Squadron
  • Xwing vs Tie Fighter
  • Force Commander
  • Day of the Tentacle (Just odd!)
  • Rescue on Fractalus

Rescue on Fractalus was my earliest memory, I both loved and loathed it, ridiculously simple game premise yet I was terrible at it, absolutely terrible and it drove me nuts, I’ll leave you with this clip on Youtube, so you can all wonder how I possible could have enjoyed this and just how old I am!

Smart luggage firms close because of airline battery rules

Smart luggage firms close because of airline battery rules – BBC News:

smart luggage

Was looking at these as have a few trips this year, and thought if nothing else the battery packs wold be good for topping up phones that always seem to drain faster on the move and the kids iPads on flights.  However …

… the rules had created confusion at check-in, meaning people were unsure whether they would be able to travel with their bags

Even the least smart of us can tell that luggage that can’t travel with is isn’t particularly smart, or even luggage!

Apple store at Florida Mall faces lawsuit over 2016 evacuation – Orlando Sentinel:

… the realistic drill was held as part of the inspection of a new restaurant opening that day. It included officials popping six balloons to mimic the sound of gunfire

I’m laughing at popping of balloons, but it was a ‘realistic drill’ who can they give them a warning !?!
